Reaching Agra
By Air
Agra airport is 7 km from the city center and 3 km from Idgah bus stand. Major Indian airlines operate daily tourist shuttle flights to Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi from Delhi and back to Delhi. It only takes 40 minutes from Delhi to Agra.
By Train
Agra is well connected by rail to Delhi, Varanasi and cities of Rajasthan. The main railway station in Agra is the Agra Cantonment station. Trains like Palace on Wheel, Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Taj Express are the best luxury trains to reach Agra from Delhi.
By Road
Agra has an excellent national highway connecting Delhi and Agra and it is only a 4 hours drive from Delhi. Idgah bus stand is the main bus stand of Agra, from where one can catch buses for Delhi, Jaipur, Mathura, Fatehpur-Sikri, etc. Buses for Mathura also leave from Agra Fort bus stand.
AGRA
Agra is one of the most famous cities in India because one of the Seven wonders, The Taj Mahal is situated here.The architectural splendour of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is vivid reminder of the luxurious life of the legendary Mughal empire, of which Agra was the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A pleasant town with a comparatively slow pace, Agra is known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone by craftsmen who are descendants of those who worked under the Mughals. The city is also famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery and leather shoes.

The Taj Mahal
A poet once described this enchanting monument as "A teardrop of love, frozen in marble on the cheek of Eternity." Situated near the banks of the River Yamuna, in Agra, Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal (Elevated one of the Palace), after her death in 1631, this beautiful tomb is recognized all over the world for its artistic perfection and is considered a symbol of eternal love.
Agra Fort
The Agra Fort in 1565 AD was built of red sandstone by The Mughal Emperor Akbar.After Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jahan also added some new features to the fort. The fort is known for its magnificent architectural styles. Some of the main attractions in the fort include the Diwan-e-Aam, the Diwan-e-Khas, the Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque), the Nagina Masjid and the Palace of Mirrors.
Jama Masjid or Jami Masjid
Built by Jahan Ara Begum -- the favorite daughter of Shah Jahan who was also imprisoned by him -- in 1648, the mosque has a unique shaped dome with no minarets. The Buland Darwaza is a gateway to the Jama Masjid. It is adorned in inscriptions, inlaid geometric designs and colored tiles.
